HOW TO GET LISTED?

What kind of locations can be listed?

Any property can be a potential location for content productions! The industry needs a wide variety of spaces, from residential homes and apartments to warehouses, offices, cafes, historical buildings, and even outdoor landscapes. Location scouts are always looking for fresh and interesting spaces.

How do I get my location listed?

The process is typically straightforward. Just message us. The most crucial part of your listing is the photos and description. You should:

  • Take high-quality photos: Use good lighting, take pictures in landscape mode, and capture a variety of shots that show the entire space and its unique features. Avoid blurry, dark, or low-resolution images.
  • Write a detailed description: Include key details like the architectural style, square footage, and any special features (e.g., a pool, vaulted ceilings, a large garden). Be specific about what makes your location special.
  • Check eligibility: You must be the property owner or have the legal authority to rent the property for filming.
What happens after my location is listed?

Once your listing is approved, it becomes available to location scouts, managers, and production companies searching the database. If your property fits the requirements of a script or project, a client will contact you directly through the platform to discuss details like dates, rates, and any specific needs.

How much should I charge for my location?

Pricing can vary widely based on the type of property, the size of the production crew, and the nature of the project (e.g., a small student film vs. a large commercial). Many portals offer guidelines, but it's important to be realistic with your pricing. Some things to consider are:

  • The uniqueness and desirability of your space.
  • The impact the shoot will have on your property.
  • Industry standard rates for your area.
  • You may want to start with a lower rate to secure your first few bookings and build a portfolio.
What are my responsibilities as a host?

As a host, your main responsibility is to ensure that the information and photos in your listing are accurate and that the space is clean and ready for the production crew at the agreed-upon time. You should also be prepared to negotiate terms and conditions and be respectful of the production's timeline and needs.

How does payment work?

Payment is typically handled through the booking portal's system. Once the booking is confirmed and the client has paid, the funds will be transferred to your account, usually within 7 business days. The platform may take a commission fee. It's important to clarify all payment terms before the shoot.
